Safe driving and transports
Traffic, transport and logistics connect our globalized economic world and as such play a key role; materials and goods are transported in every branch of our economy.
Driving and transporting goods safely is also a prominent subject in occupational health and safety: the transport field is characterised by its number of accidents, which are above average. Depending on the industry, up to one third of all work-related accidents are connected to transport processes.
The Transport work programme developed by the GDA aimed to reduce the number and severity of work-related accidents connected to transport processes. The programme focused on reducing occupational safety deficits in transport processes and strengthening employee motivation and knowledge with regard to safe driving and transports. A further focal point was the systematic observation of occupational health and safety, particularly through appropriate risk assessments.
